We are seeking a brilliant Senior Engineer to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity to join a team responsible for maintaining the Mend Renovate Open Source and backend projects. What will you do?

• Own the project's open source repository, lead issue triage, review pull requests, and foster a positive and productive contributor experience.
• Respond to community discussions, enforce project guidelines, and maintain high standards of conduct and technical quality.
• Make key architectural and technical decisions in collaboration with contributors and internal stakeholders.
• Design, implement, and own features from ideation to release across the OSS and backend codebases.
• Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs), research new solutions, and integrate feedback from the community and users.
• Work cross-functionally with other teams and contributors to deliver impactful updates.
• Improve automation, CI/CD, dependency updates, and security across the project.
  
  

Requirements

Requirements - MUST

• Open source advocate with a strong interest in community-driven development
• 5+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years professional experience in TypeScript
• 2+ years experience in Java
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux-based development
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL is a plus)
• Excellent communication in English – written and verbal
  
  

Advantages

• Prior experience as an open source maintainer
• Experience managing large-scale OSS communities or GitHub projects
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and scalable systems
• Exposure to multiple source control platforms -GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps.
• Frontend development experience with React
• Experience with Go
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (strong advantage)
