Backend Team Leader
As the leader of the development team within the VUE backend group, you will engage in approximately 50% hands-on tasks while overseeing the group's key workflow domain responsibilities within the Vue product. You will manage the team's deliverables, encompassing development, verification, training, and support service personnel during customer escalations. In this role, you will act as an enabler, fostering the adoption, success, and continual enhancement of agile and software development practices. Additionally, you will serve as a crucial liaison with other functions and organizations outside of R&D, driving business results through effective collaboration.
Your role:
- You will lead a team of seven developers and verification engineers
- You will focus on complex development and maintenance activities in the Hospital Radiology and Enterprise domains
- You will ensure the delivery of software modules and components with high quality
- You will support the service department in addressing product-related customer escalations
- You will promote personal and team development in software coding, testing, and automation
- You will manage the team's daily activities and ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- You will adhere to software development professionalism standards, including processes, methodologies, quality, design, coding, and testing
- You will carry out complex development and prototyping tasks
- You will foster domain knowledge, system thinking, and customer understanding within the team

You're the right fit if:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science / software
- You hold 7+ years of experience as a SW engineer
- You hold 2+ years of experience in a formal leadership role, leading a team of engineers
- You have experience in leading Agile Development teams (desirable)
- You have proven software engineering skills using C++, .Net, C# and SQL
- Knowledge of Python and Perl scripting languages will be considered an advantage
- You have proven skills in software architecture
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English
- Experience with the medical device industry or other regulated industry will be considered an advantage.
How We Work Together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This role is an office role.
