About the Position
We are seeking a student with a passion for both Hardware, Software and their interaction. This is not a standard desk job; it is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for configuring, debugging, and integrating the hardware setups that power our Data collection and Algorithm validation engines.
We are looking for someone who feels comfortable holding a soldering iron in one hand and writing a Python script with the other. You will bridge the gap between our physical validation setups and the software infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Hardware Integration & Configuration: Take part in the setup and configuration of complex validation stations, including embedded boards, sensors, and cameras.
- Board Bring-up & Debug: Troubleshoot hardware issues on the bench and in vehicle setups.
- Automation & Scripting: Write Python/Shell scripts to automate the configuration and testing of hardware components, ensuring efficient data flow for our team.
- Hands-on Setups: Design and build physical setups for indoor robot-arm labs and in-car data acquisition, ensuring robust connectivity and signal integrity.
- Support R&D: Assist the algorithm and data teams by ensuring the physical infrastructure delivers reliable, high-quality data for model training.
- Support data collection campaigns involving complex setups and human subjects. I
Requirements
- Student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field (with at least 1 year remaining).
- Hardware Oriented: Strong technical understanding of electronic circuits, board configuration, and hardware interfaces (e.g., USB, CANBUS, UART, I2C, SPI).
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and testing.
- Hands-on Attitude: Comfortable working with HW equipment (Sensors, PCB boards, PCs) and building physical setups.
- Tech Savvy: Ability to install drivers, flash firmware, and debug connection issues.
- Independent Learner: Ability to tackle complex technical challenges and learn new technologies fast.
