Role Overview
As a LiDAR System Technician, you’ll be the hands-on backbone of the system engineering team. You’ll design and build test setups, execute experiments, collect and analyze measurement data, and help drive continuous improvement across our sensor platforms. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding role, ideal for someone who thrives in a lab environment and takes ownership of end-to-end testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lab Testing & Instrumentation
- Set up and operate oscilloscopes, ampere meters, power supplies and other test gear
- Develop and maintain custom test setups for LiDAR modules
- Data Acquisition & Analysis
- Write scripts in Python or MATLAB to automate data capture, processing and visualization
- Experiment Execution
- Plan and conduct characterization experiments under varying environmental conditions
- Document procedures, results and deviations in detailed lab reports
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with system engineers, optics experts and firmware teams to troubleshoot issues
- Provide feedback on design for testability and manufacturability
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, ammeters, power meters, etc.)
- Proficiency in scripting for data acquisition and analysis using Python and/or MATLAB
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with laser systems, optics or RF
- Exposure to automotive-grade sensor development or semiconductor laser characterization
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and lab-automation frameworks
