The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer you’ll help shape and lead the development of our core execution-engine agents, analyzing the internals of leading data engines such as Apache Spark, Iceberg, and Trino. As a founding team member, this is a unique opportunity to join a small, high-impact team and help shape a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and experimentation.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build Definity’s real-time agents & instrumentation for top data execution engines.
• Research and implement optimization strategies for data analytic workloads.
• Play a key role in major technological and architectural platform decisions.
• Improve platform efficiency, scalability, and stability
• Define and implement GenAI-based solutions
• Work directly with customers and advocate for their needs across the platform
• Work in a hybrid model, based in Tel Aviv

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of experience building software for distributed data platforms
• Deep expertise in Apache Spark, Iceberg, and/or Trino internals and optimization
• Strong proficiency in Java/Scala and Python
• Good expertise in data analysis and proficiency in SQL
• Building data platforms / Infrastructure - Advantage
• High engineering standards and the ability to deliver quality at a fast pace
• Strong record of impact and excellence
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical training
