About The Role

We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Director of R&D to lead our engineering teams and play a key role in executing HyperGuest’s technological strategy.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the R&D organization, delivering excellence, team growth, and the continuous evolution of our scalable SaaS platform.

You will work closely with Product, DevOps, and senior leadership, translating business and product goals into robust, high-quality technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage multiple R&D teams, including software engineers and DevOps.
• Own end-to-end execution of development initiatives- from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
• Drive delivery of scalable, high-performance features in large-scale, data-driven, distributed environments.
• Partner closely with Product Management to plan and execute the R&D roadmap and quarterly priorities.
• Ensure engineering best practices across CI/CD, testing automation, security, observability, and performance.
• Maintain a hands-on technical involvement in architecture, design reviews, and critical problem-solving.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Manage resources, timelines, and priorities across multiple parallel projects.
• Identify technical risks and proactively address scalability, reliability, and performance challenges.
  
  

Requirements:

• 6+ years of R&D leadership experience in a B2B SaaS environment (mandatory), including 2+ years as Director of R&D, Engineering Manager, or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience building and scaling data-intensive, distributed systems.
• Proven expertise with Node.js, Vue.js, AWS infrastructure, MongoDB (non-Atlas), MySQL, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience leading or closely collaborating with DevOps teams and implementing DevOps best practices.
• Solid background in software architecture and cloud-native systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and execution skills.
• Ability to translate product and business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• High level of English (written and spoken)- mandatory.
