Job Summary

The Red Hat OpenShift BareMetal Engineering team in Raanana seeks a highly motivated intern interested in cloud infrastructure, automation, and QA. You will test and validate OpenShift bare metal deployments, developing and maintaining automated test suites, executing manual test cases, and validating installations and infrastructure. This long-term internship offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ironic, Redfish, and infrastructure automation, focusing on enterprise Kubernetes testing and bare metal provisioning/validation.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of automated end-to-end (E2E) tests using Ginkgo framework for OpenShift bare metal deployments
  • Work on designing, documenting, and executing comprehensive test cases for baremetal-specific features, edge cases, and workflows
  • Contribute to validation of OpenShift cluster installations, network configurations, and infrastructure provisioning using IPI (Installer Provisioned Infrastructure)
  • Help with investigation and reproduction of issues reported in Jira, working collaboratively with development teams to verify fixes

What You Will Bring

  • Basic programming experience in Go or Python (or strong willingness to learn)
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, CIDR notation, VLANs)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed, global team environment
  • Interest in learning new technologies; problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in Israel during the whole duration of the internship and eligible to begin a full-time role in 2027 or 2028
  • Must be available for the internship from May 2026 till April 2027

The Following Are Considered a Plus

  • Theoretical knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, or virtualization technologies
  • Experience with Git and version control systems
  • Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) infrastructure and testing pipelines
  • Basic understanding of YAML configuration files
  • Prior participation in open source software projects
  • Interest in hardware, networking, or datacenter technologies
