About Element

Element Security is a leader in external attack surface security. Our platform helps organizations take control of their real-world exposure by safely validating which security issues are actually exploitable, allowing teams to focus on what truly matters.

Unlike traditional exposure or scanning platforms, Element actively proves impact. We combine large-scale discovery with controlled exploitation to surface high-impact, exploitable security issues across modern environments.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Customer-Facing Product Engineer to help build and maintain Element’s core product while serving as a trusted technical point of contact for customers.

This is primarily an engineering role, with meaningful customer-facing responsibility. You will design and ship product features, investigate and fix customer-reported issues, scope technical requirements, and help customers understand how Element can solve their security challenges.

This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys deep technical work, communicates clearly in English, and is comfortable moving between product development, debugging, customer conversations, and technical scoping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, ship, and maintain features across Element’s core product
  • Investigate, reproduce, and fix customer-reported bugs, owning issues end to end
  • Communicate directly with customers to understand needs, clarify issues, and scope feature requests
  • Translate customer pain points into clear technical and product requirements
  • Support sales and customer success teams when technical expertise is needed, including demos, integrations, technical questions, and feasibility discussions
  • Write clear documentation, release notes, and customer-facing technical updates
  • Collaborate with product, research, sales, and support teams to prioritize work and unblock customers
  • Balance focused engineering work with time-sensitive customer needs

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience building and maintaining production systems
  • Strong debugging skills and the ability to independently investigate complex technical issues
  • Excellent written and spoken English, including customer-facing communication
  • Comfortable speaking directly with technical and non-technical customer stakeholders
  • Ability to turn ambiguous customer feedback into clear engineering tasks
  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Genuine empathy for users and curiosity about how they use the product
  • Interest in security, infrastructure, or complex technical products

Nice to Have

  • Experience in cybersecurity, attack surface management, vulnerability management, offensive security, or related domains
  • Experience in a customer-facing engineering, solutions engineering, technical support, or developer relations role
  • Open source contributions, technical writing, or public speaking
  • Additional languages beyond English

Personal Qualities

  • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable owning complex problems end to end
  • Curious, self-driven, and pragmatic
  • Able to balance shipping speed with engineering discipline
  • High attention to detail, especially when customer trust is involved
  • Calm under pressure when handling customer-facing issues and product delivery

Why Element

  • Work on a product solving real, high-impact security problems for organizations at scale
  • Build core product features while staying close to the customers who use them
  • Collaborate closely with research, engineering, product, and go-to-market teams
  • Join a team that values deep technical work, ownership, and practical execution
