Telefire develops advanced fire detection and smoke management products for commercial, industrial and public buildings.
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Engineer to join our Hardware & Embedded team and take part in developing the next generation of our fire detection and life-safety products.
This is a key development role with significant ownership, working on embedded systems across multiple products from initial design and architecture through implementation, integration, testing, certification and production.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for multiple Telefire products.
- Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up, debugging, and HW/FW integration.
- Develop diagnostic, testing, and production-support capabilities.
- Contribute to system architecture, technical design, development processes and code quality.
- Support verification, certification, compliance, and production processes.
- Collaborate closely with QA, Software, Engineering, Support and other Telefire teams.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on embedded / firmware development experience.
- Strong programming skills in C / C++.
- Experience developing firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
- Good understanding of embedded systems, electronics, and hardware interfaces.
- Experience with embedded communication protocols and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet.
- Experience with debugging embedded systems using laboratory and debugging tools.
- Ability to understand schematics and work closely with hardware engineers.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and technical problems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Advantages
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers, including STM32 and/or NXP.
- Experience with IoT and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, MQTT.
- Experience with cybersecurity for embedded devices.
- Experience with regulatory, certification, or compliance processes.
